Position Title: Summer Park Program Director
Position Summary: The Summer Park Program Director is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the Town of Floyd Summer Park Program. The Director will ensure a safe, organized, positive, and engaging experience for all participants while supervising staff, communicating with parents, and managing program activities.
Responsibilities
• Supervise all program staff and participants
• Plan and oversee daily activities and schedules
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed
• Communicate with parents/guardians professionally
• Handle behavioral issues and incident reporting
• Monitor attendance and daily sign-in/sign-out procedures
• Coordinate supplies, activities, and special events
• Coordinate daily activities and schedules
• Respond to emergencies and weather-related situations
• Maintain a positive and inclusive environment
• Ensure all Town policies and procedures are followed
Qualifications
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience working with children preferred
• Ability to manage groups and problem solve effectively
• CPR/First Aid certification required
• Must pass background check
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required
• Schedule• Monday–Friday
Approx. 37.5 hours. 8 AM – 3:30 PM (Includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)

Position Title Summer Park Program Counselor
Position Summary: Summer Park Program Counselors are responsible for supervising children, leading activities, and helping create a fun, safe, and engaging environment throughout the program.
Responsibilities
• Supervise assigned group of children
• Lead games, crafts, and recreational activities
• Ensure children remain safe and included
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and daily transitions
• Encourage teamwork and positive behavior
• Follow all program safety procedures
• Communicate concerns to the Program Director
• Assist during special events and water activities
Qualifications
• Enjoy working with children
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Responsible, dependable, and energetic
• Ability to work outdoors in summer conditions
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Position Summary: Junior Counselors assist Program Counselors and staff with daily activities, participant engagement, and overall program operations while gaining leadership and work experience.

• Assist with setup and cleanup and help maintain organized activity areas
• Encourage positive behavior and participation
• Serve as a positive role model for participants
